The ideal candidate's skills
As the Business Controller – Nordics, you will be the articulation between Finance and Project Management responsible for:
- Monitoring financials and overall healthiness of projects on a weekly basis
- Analyzing the progress of each project of the Nordic region Organization and reporting on critical topics (escalation) to the Finance Director – Nordic region
- Reviewing the KPI’s prepared by the Financial Analyst and identifying any risk
- Producing project month-end reporting
- Billing - reviewing and creating project charges (analyzing timesheets, billing rate, bookings, etc.)
- Running Revenue recognition cycle
- Handling invoicing process exceptions
- Preparing Revenue Forecast vs Revenue Actuals analysis, gross margin analysis
- Commenting any deviation between forecast and actuals for the revenue
- Ensuring a timely delivery of the figures
- Collaborate closely with the project owner to ensure consistency in project Financial data and project reporting
- Interacting with the Finance Shared Services (FISS) and the Business applications shared services (BASS)
- Business partner with Delivery preparing financial data and analysis to support management decision
- Reviewing the status of critical projects and Fixed-price projects
- Participate to the elaboration of the Budget and forecast during the year
- Timely performing the internal controls on the revenue process
The role
You are an outgoing person with strong communication skills, comfortable in interacting with stakeholders at all levels, and with a high level of proficiency in English. You are analytical, accurate, and have great attention to detail. You enjoy being solution-driven and taking initiative based on your analysis and insights. Most likely you have international experience and have worked in environments where you collaborate with team members in several locations.
Business Controller – Nordics required skills:
- must understand the contract’s terms and specifics around Fixed Price vs T&M
- must have strong knowledge of Finance processes (IFRS15 rules, AR invoicing, Accruals, WIP, Deferred revenue, prepayment)
- must demonstrate strong analytical skills
- should be fluent in English and experience with Swedish/Danish is an advantage
- must be a reliable source of information for Finance and Delivery (being on top of their project status at any given time)
- must have budget skills
- experience working with Internal Controls on Revenue
- must have strong communication skills and abilities to interact with various stakeholders (in Finance and Operations)
